Attendance: our class is working on developing a positive attitude towards being in class on time and ready to learn. It is important that we arrive to school within enough time to ensure that we are in class at 8:45am. Transitioning from recesses back into class also needs to be safe and punctual so that our instructional time can begin effectively.
gmail: students have been assigned a gmail account and password (not to be changed) for class purposes. This email will be used to create accounts in various Web 2.0 tools. Students are not to use their personal accounts for class projects as this makes it difficult for me to provide support when challenges arise. Please connect with your child to discuss the account name and password; as well as to re-enforce online etiquette. Being a digital citizen while applying the classroom 4 agreements is strongly encouraged.
Music: sign up for a "timetoast" account (use the class assigned gmail address). Consider a modern composer who has inspired you with their music and begin to gather information about them. Over the next two weeks students will create a digital timeline of their achievements.
Poetry: using the list of descriptive words inspired by the Louie Schwartzberg: The hidden beauty of pollination. (scroll to 3:20 to begin viewing the timelapse video) create a free write poem and record or type it into the voki. Time was provided today for students to begin creating their avatars.
