Science: the academic controversy (debate) held today focussing on the "proposed development of Cedarvale Park, into a shopping mall" was heated and all sides were prepared and passionate about their perspective.  At this time, there is no clear decision on what should happen with the development of Cedarvale Park.  Further discussions will have to be held to debrief arguments and perspectives.

• Note: if any further research was gathered that has not been shared within the wiki, please share/input the information over the weekend.  Great work everyone  :o)

Today:  Students were true ambassadors of McMurrich as they respectfully bowled in teams of 5. We will be graphing and analyzing the data from their individual frames and team scores in the next few weeks.  A special thanks to our parents who volunteered with us today.  Go McMurrich Go!

Movie Night: parents within the school council are organizing a movie night for the school community on Friday November 23rd.  A flyer has been sent home with more information.

It was a pleasure to meet with many of the parents during parent/teacher interviews on Thursday and Friday.  I look forward to meeting with others throughout next week.  Students will be asked to reflect on their Progress Report next week and to consider the following (as these were a common trend in our class community of learners):

• Daily reading at home and at school
• In class and at home task completion (both online and paper & pencil tasks)
• Self Advocating
• Contributing member of your own learning (and the learning of others)

This is a reminder that the Annual McM Community Potluck is on today from 6-8pm.  Bring your tasty treats/dishes and reacquaint yourselves with your McM Community friends and get to know new members as well. Do not miss out on this great opportunity to meet you children's friends and classmates.

Thank you for sharing your math thinking cooperatively in your groups.

Math: Practice multiplication using the online math manipulatives using numbers cubes: select one die of each colour.  Click the hand to roll and multiply the numbers.

Voicethread:  Thank you for completing this task.  Tonight, listen to the responses shared by other students in voicethread and reflect on the similarities/differences in issues that concern others in the classroom.

Parent/Teacher Interviews: please connect with your child regarding your time for the Progress Report parent/teacher interviews.  Progress Reports will be sent home tomorrow afternoon  :o)

INDOOR SHOES: as the weather is wet and the playground is muddy, students need to have indoors shoes to wear in the school.  At the end of the day, the shoes can be placed on their desks or in their lockers.
